Imagine an NFL Super Team, the outrage it would case on social media.
Remember back when Madden gave you the option to create a team, and towards the end it let you build a roster of every player in the league so you would make a stacked team? That’s basically what we are doing here, with a few limitations. I’ll go over the rules in a second, but Trey is always challenging us to be creative and come up with unique post ideas, so let’s have a little fun and build some NFL Super teams.
As the title says, I will be building 8 teams, one for every division in the NFL.
No offensive linemen selected (not saying I don’t love the big bois on the line though)
Positions and number of them on the roster are as follows: 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 4-3 Defense.
No salary cap restrictions. All fantasy teams baby.
Positions like LB and Safety I will just be picking the best, not necessarily by OLB vs MLB or FS vs SS.
This list will not be in any order for ranking.
Going through the AFC East and finding talent not on the Buffalo Bills made this list a little tricky. Although, I will admit there were more Jets players making this Super Team than I originally expected. As far as ranking these teams, not starting out too strong but still obviously a team that would go 16-0. The defense would be legendary and can re-create a no-fly zone similar to the golden era of Seahawks football.
You want to talk about a smash-mouth defense? I am convinced this AFC North defense won’t allow more than 10 points a game. Then you hand the ball to the speed demons on the offense and watch them cook your opponents for 30+ a game. The decision to have Trey Hendrickson over newly signed Jadevon Clowney was more a production thing more than anything. The receiver corp is young but has all the potential in the world, the only issue is how many targets they would get with Lamar Jackson. As long as they get open apparently they’ll get them. I also omitted Odell Beckham Jr. from that corp because I don’t know what he’s going to look like after his injury.
I went into this division not expecting a lot of diversity in these teams, and I was correct. It’s hard to pick an NFL Super Team from this division when there are only two good teams in it: Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. This offense, however, is damn impressive. It’s still weird having Julio Jones on the Titans but it takes their offense to the next level. The only real weak spot on this team is TE and CB, but the safeties make up for the lack of coverage.
A tale of two teams again with the Kansas City Chiefs offense basically and the Denver Broncos defense. There was never going to be any debate on Quarterback, Tight End, Safeties, Defensive Ends, or Wide Receivers. One of the easier NFL Super Team to build so far, and looking at it on paper one of the best teams as well. Top to bottom just absolutely loaded with talent.

Let’s call it like it is: the NFC East is probably the worst division in football. Their winner last year went 7-9 but did manage to put up a good showing against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs. There may be some surprises on my list but that is the beauty of it, it’s my list and if you have an opinion on it I will be sure to link both Vendetta’s Twitter along with my own.
Every division so far has basically been the same song and dance: there are two teams atop each division and then there are two teams who are clearly looking to make their way up. See the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. I was fairly surprised a Lions player even made the list but the NFC North is not very strong in Defensive Ends. This NFL Super Team is built around being a nose to the grindstone team and their plan of attack is to outwork you and be physical at the point of attack.
Of course, this list is dominated by the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are basically an NFL Super Team in it of themselves. The Atlanta Falcons, however, have some very nice pieces and under new head coach Arthur Smith could make some noise in the NFC South this season. Plus, they host the first rookie to be on this NFL Super Team list in Kyle Pitts.
The offense for this NFL Super Team for the NFC West will be very good, yes. But oh my god this defense is out of this world. I don’t think they allow a single point. Where do you get your offense? Run the ball? Look at that defensive line. You can’t pass on this team either because of this frightening secondary. Defensively speaking, this is the best team on this list. You can debate the offense in the comments.
So, how did I do? Care to let me know any snubs I made on these lists? Tag me on Twitter and tell me all about it. This was a lot of fun to put together and I hope y’all enjoy it!
